At the beginning of the summer I came up with the idea of teaching a cable class with a cabled pillow as the project. It is small, requires no additional thought like shaping, and it is quick. However comfy woolen pillows are, apparently not what folks think of during summer, and my only participant, Cheryl, was really commissioning me to design a cable for a design for her. (A task that I worked on for like eight straight hours, or something like that. Stopping briefly to go check out the new ice cream parlor in town, on the way to which I ran into Michelle who informed me I had “finals look” in my eyes. Clearly I was in focussed mode.) Either way, Chesley and I decided to revisit the idea in fall, when wool and cables are more popular. This time we have a tempting sample of a pillow of my own design. The exact pattern is available at The Knitting Experience, and I will probably sell it on Ravelry as well when that option is up and running. By the by, if you are on Ravelry, look for me as Patti, of course, and if you do not know what ravelry is, check it out get on the list. Dude, just trust me on this one. Anyhow, where was I? I am clearly in touch with my inner ADD monkey today, maybe it comes from working on the killer monkeys for too long, oh yeah pillows... right. My class will be in October sometime, check the Knitting Experience website for details, and sign up with them. Everyone will get the pattern for my original pillow, but I will also be showcasing how to substitute in other cable patterns if you want. It will be good times.
