Yes I did read the yarn harlot’s blog entry where she mentions that she reads a lot of knitting blogs, and is always surprised to hear that people don’t get that she reads them and will know who they are. I did not however think that in any way this would apply to me. None the less when the harlot complemented my T-shirt ( the Branched Tee), and I told her about my blog she responded “Oh! I totally know who you are! I have some of your patterns on my desktop right now.” Clearly my excitement was visible on my face, after all not only did she see my blog but she thought enough of my patterns to put them on her desktop! One of my fellow knitters turned to Stephanie and informed her that she had just made my month, a very astute knitter I might add, and Stephanie responded to her, “Well, of course I know her, that’s Patti!” I am so on my way to having the one name fame! I will be the knitterly equivalent of Oprah, Britney, Brad, etc.
Those of you who have already read Stephanie’s blog (now that I have met her I feel a first named basis is called for, after all, I’m Patti) will already know about The Great Pantying of ’07, in which I am proud to say I have participated. If you look closely you can see yours truly on the harlot’s blog doing so. My mother and I arrived at the even first, and knowing she would take a crowd photo, I suggested we sit in the front row. Here you can see the progress of the crowd arriving:
It was quite the event. Stephanie was funnier in person than she is on her blog or in her books. If you ever get the chance to go and see her speak I highly recommend it!
