I’m back!

Yes it has been forever, but I have finally returned to the wide world of blogdom, and yes I have missed a lot during my hiatus. Between family, and the shocking news that my GRE scores were five years old and therefore gone and school and applying to grad school... somehow the blog had been sadly neglected. But now with GREs retaken, grad schools totally applied to, almost, and well school is still insane but two out of three ain’t half bad. In the meantime I have started a scarf out of a shiny hand spun tencel and silk blend that is pictured above with Magpie. The both like to sit on my comfy chair, cat and scarf, so I thought I would get some photographic evidence that cat and knitting could coexist peacefully despite instincts to the contrary.

I have also manage to start an Elsbeth Lavold sweater in purple silky wool, of which I have no picture. I have the front and the back finished, and am plotting sleeves in the round adjustment to the pattern. In the meantime I have much with which ti busy myself having attended the early bird sale at The Knitting Experience in Brunswick. This is a phenomenon where shops in Brunswick open their doors at ungodly hours of the morning but with really great sales to entice shoppers out of their beds. This allowed me to lose a great deal of sleep and to save about $50. I acquired some Cascade Pima Tencel, some Spunky Eclectic, and some Freedom Spirit which I already started knitting into the Bolero from the summer Jo Sharp Knit.

Here is Magpie desperately trying to figure out what in the world I am doing as I photograph him with my new scarf.
